Exhibition Słońsk – Station 11:
The panel shows views of the elaborately designed former windows of the east façade of the Johanniterschloss and describes their history.
The east façade consists of masonry dating from 1668. Baroque wooden windows with typical muntin divisions once offered views of the generously laid-out palace park from the first floor.
The east wall of the Knights’ Hall was dominated by the over ten-metre-high Baroque window group, which gave it an almost sacred character. The iron window frames from 1877 once held coloured window panes, and the elaborately crafted leaded rosettes of the upper blind arches contained five Johannite crosses.
